Ou Werf Farm Cottage – A Peaceful Off-Grid Escape in the Overberg
Escape to the tranquillity of Ou Werf Farm Cottage, a charming, pet-friendly retreat situated on Mierkraal Farm at the foot of the Heuningberg Mountain, just 12 km from Bredasdorp.
Surrounded by the natural beauty of the Overberg, Ou Werf is a solar-powered, off-the-grid cottage overlooking a peaceful dam, with spectacular views of the mountains and surrounding landscape from almost every angle. It is the perfect place to slow down, breathe in the fresh country air and reconnect with nature, while still enjoying comforts such as Wi-Fi and a fully equipped kitchen.
The cottage comfortably sleeps 6 guests, making it ideal for families, friends and outdoor enthusiasts looking for a peaceful self-catering farm cottage in the Overberg. An additional double sleeper couch in the living area provides extra flexibility when required.
A COSY COTTAGE SURROUNDED BY NATURE
Ou Werf combines the charm of a rustic farm getaway with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The open-plan living area creates a warm, welcoming space for guests to relax together, with an intimate fireplace for cosy evenings.
The fully equipped kitchen includes a stove, oven and fridge-freezer, with a dining area where you can enjoy relaxed meals after a day spent outdoors.
Large sliding doors open onto the patio, where you can sit back and admire the spectacular Overberg landscape. As the sun goes down, pour yourself a sundowner and watch the changing colours across the landscape.
All prices displayed are per night for the entire cottage.
There are 2 bedrooms:
1st room: double bed with en-suite bathroom (shower and toilet) – sleeps 2
2nd room: 2 single beds and 2 bunk beds with en-suite bathroom (shower and toilet) - sleeps 4
Additional Option: double sleeper couch in the lounge.
Ou Werf Cottage is off-grid and Solar powered.
The open-plan living area has an intimate fireplace and a homely kitchen, fully equipped including:

COTTAGE LAY-OUT
The cottage has two comfortable bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom.
Bedroom 1
A double bed with an en-suite bathroom featuring a shower and toilet. Sleeps 2.
Bedroom 2
Two single beds and two bunk beds, with an en-suite bathroom featuring a shower and toilet. Sleeps 4.
Living Area
An additional double sleeper couch is available in the lounge when required.

For those who love the outdoors, Ou Werf offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy the natural surroundings. Spend your days walking, jogging, cycling, fishing, canoeing or swimming, or simply take time to watch the birds and animals around the farm.
As evening approaches, make your way to the outside braai area, where you can enjoy a traditional South African braai before settling in for an evening of stargazing beneath the clear Overberg skies.
